DECA, an organization focused on nurturing future leaders in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management, recently held a competition on January 22. The event aimed to help students apply classroom knowledge to practical situations through various challenges such as role-plays and business simulations.

Maus and Fields, alongside their advisors from Mayville State University—Dustin Olson and Rob Johnson—served as judges for the high school DECA competition. Both Olson and Johnson are Professors of Business at Mayville State with extensive experience in Collegiate DECA at multiple levels.

Dustin Olson has been part of Mayville State's faculty for over 15 years, specializing in accounting, entrepreneurship, and leadership. He emphasized the importance of supporting young students: "Being part of this event and assisting these remarkable students as they discover their potential in the business realm was fantastic," said Mr. Olson. "Collegiate DECA has made significant contributions to our students at Mayville State, so it’s only natural for us to support high school DECA students as they learn, develop, and push their limits."
