Minot State University has reported an increase in student enrollment for the Spring 2024 semester. The official fourth-week enrollment stands at 2,566 students, marking a rise of approximately 1% compared to the previous spring.
"We are pleased to see the overall enrollment growth at Minot State this spring," stated Dr. Steven Shirley, President of Minot State University. He attributed this growth to several new scholarship programs, including the Hometown Pride and Prairie Rose Scholarships, as well as a revamped four-year award known as the Academic Excellence Scholarship. "We believe these new initiatives have helped to maintain affordability for students, and, along with our traditional strong array of academic programs, have helped ensure our enrollment increase this spring."
The university noted that although spring is not typically a major semester for incoming freshmen, it enrolled its largest freshman class since 2018 for this term. Additionally, Minot State registered its second-largest dual credit class in eight years with 219 students—an increase of 24 students from last year, representing a 12.3% rise.
Minot State University is recognized as a public institution committed to excellence in education and community engagement through rigorous academic experiences and active learning environments.
