Under new federal law, the City of Grand Forks is required to keep an inventory of the type of water lines that run to all households

Under new federal law, the City of Grand Forks is required to keep an inventory of the type of water lines that run to all households. The City has a good inventory for newer homes but older homes (built in the 50s or older) are tougher.  We still need to inventory about 1,800 homes in town.  If your household receives this postcard, please follow the directions on the card to identify and report your water service line material. If you do not receive this postcard, the City already knows your line material.  This inventory is required by all public water systems. We test our treated water supply on a regular basis and this continuous testing has detected safe lead levels within our system.
