The University of North Dakota has announced the hiring of Clark Joslin as an assistant coach for the Fighting Hawks women’s volleyball team. Head coach David Nguyen shared his perspective on the addition, stating, “I am thrilled to have Clark join our staff. I have had the opportunity to coach against him a couple of times and felt like we could work well together. His ability to scout, game plan and recruit, will really help our program excel. I look forward to seeing all that we will accomplish together.”

Joslin joins UND after serving three seasons as an assistant coach at Central Michigan from 2023 to 2025. During his tenure with the Chippewas, he focused on coaching middle blockers and pin blockers in his first two seasons and contributed to a 24-7 record for the team in 2024. In 2025, Joslin shifted his focus primarily to pin attackers, where he played a role in senior outside hitter Natalia Rejment increasing her average kills per set from 2.76 in 2024 to 3.11 in 2025. Rejment earned second team All-MAC honors that season.

Reflecting on his new role at North Dakota, Joslin said, “I am honored and humbled to join the University of North Dakota volleyball family. This move was an easy decision for me after my conversations with Coach Nguyen. His passion, intelligence and vision made it clear that he is committed to building a program that is founded on student-athlete development, on and off the court. I look forward to working with him and everyone else surrounding the program to create an environment of positivity, collaboration and competition!”

Before starting his coaching career, Joslin was involved with Michigan State’s volleyball program as a practice player during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He helped simulate scout team opponents during practices.

Joslin grew up in Troy, Michigan, graduating from Michigan State University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies before completing an MBA in Business Data Analytics in 2025.
