The University of North Dakota will host its 104th summer commencement ceremony on Friday, August 8, at the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

A total of 534 students are eligible to receive their degrees during this summer’s ceremony. Ryan Zerr, professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics in the College of Arts & Sciences, has been selected as the guest speaker for the event. UND President Andrew Armacost will preside over the ceremony.

Parking for graduates, guests, faculty, and staff will be available free of charge in the lot south of the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center. Doors to seating will open one hour before the start time.

The university plans to livestream the ceremonies on its website and Facebook page.

At UND, Professor Zerr also serves as associate vice president for Strategy & Implementation. He joined UND in 2003 after earning a Ph.D. in mathematics from Iowa State University and has held several roles across campus since then.

“As associate vice president, appointed by UND President Andrew Armacost, Zerr serves as the chief administrator charged with implementing, tracking and reporting the University’s progress in its UND LEADS Strategic Plan.”
