Rainy weather did not prevent the University of North Dakota from holding its Homecoming Week celebrations from September 15 to 20, 2025. The annual tradition, which has been observed since 1916, included several events that went ahead as scheduled despite periods of rain.

On Saturday, a break in the weather allowed the parade to proceed as planned. The university's football team also played its homecoming game at the Alerus Center and achieved a significant victory over Valparaiso University with a score of 58-7.

"Rain or shine, Homecoming Week 2025 delivers a celebration of community and school spirit," stated event organizers.

The weeklong festivities highlighted UND’s commitment to maintaining traditions and fostering school spirit regardless of weather conditions.
