In recent weeks, the University of North Dakota (UND) has highlighted the involvement of its students in operating and managing satellites in space. UND’s video team released footage documenting the launch and operation of ROADS One and Two, which are North Dakota’s first-ever commissioned satellites.

According to university officials, this project offers students practical experience in satellite operations, marking a significant step for both the institution and the state. The initiative is part of UND’s broader effort to provide hands-on learning opportunities in science and technology fields.

“Next generation of space leaders gets hands-on experience by launching, operating North Dakota’s first-ever commissioned satellites,” said a statement from the university.

The launch and subsequent operation of these satellites represent an important milestone for UND. It demonstrates how academic programs can give students real-world skills while contributing to advancements in space technology.
