GlobalND is set to host eight energy officials from Pakistan in Minot, North Dakota, from August 6 to August 12. The visit is part of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), an initiative of the U.S. State Department. The main focus of the Pakistani delegation’s program is “Integrated Energy Planning for the Power and Petroleum Sectors.”
GlobalND, a non-profit and volunteer-run organization, was established in 1993 as the Minot Area Council for International Visitors through collaboration between Minot State University and local partners such as the city of Minot, the Minot Education Association, and Minot Air Force Base. The group is a member of the Global Ties US Network and works closely with IVLP to promote international exchange.
During their stay in North Dakota, the officials will participate in meetings that include sessions with the Oil and Gas Division of the ND Department of Mineral Resources and a visit to the Native Green Grow project led by the MHA Nation. In addition to professional appointments, they will be hosted for dinner by two families from Minot.
Following their time in Minot, the group will travel to Tulsa for further meetings and demonstrations.
