Bryce Broome, a 2018 graduate of Minot State University, found his way into CrossFit while seeking a challenging workout after his time as a student-athlete in football and wrestling. Initially joining to maintain fitness for his role at the Minot Police Department, Broome's interest in CrossFit evolved into a passion that led him to open his own gym, Souris Valley CrossFit.
His journey was influenced by watching "Froning: The Fittest Man in History" on Netflix, which inspired him to pursue competitive CrossFit. "Rich Froning is like the Michael Jordan of CrossFit," Broome said. Despite setbacks, he persisted and eventually qualified for the 2025 CrossFit Games with Training Think Tank (TTT) CrossFit team.
Broome credits mentorship from Two-Brain Business and local entrepreneurs for guiding him in establishing his business. He also values the supportive community he found in Minot, where he has built strong relationships and embraced personal growth. Engaged to former MSU women's soccer standout Sofia Lewis, Broome emphasizes the role of faith and community in his journey.
Souris Valley CrossFit aims to cater to diverse fitness goals, from competitive athletes to individuals seeking long-term health improvements. "We can scale our programs for all ages and levels," Broome stated. Looking ahead, he envisions expanding into youth programs and family-focused health initiatives.
