Minot State University (MSU) has signed an articulation agreement with Northland Community and Technical College (NCTC) in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. This agreement guarantees admission for students from NCTC's Associate of Science nursing program into MSU’s online Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion Program, contingent upon meeting all necessary admissions requirements.
Amy Lee, chair of the Minot State Department of Nursing, stated, “This partnership creates a clear path for more students to earn their BSN, strengthening the nursing workforce and supporting the health of our state.”
This is MSU's third guaranteed admission partnership with regional two-year programs and its first with a non-North Dakota University System school. It marks the sixth such articulation agreement overall. MSU already has agreements with Dakota College at Bottineau and Lake Region State College within the NDUS.
Richelle Johnson, director of the RN to BSN program at Minot State, commented on the expansion: “We’re proud to continue expanding access to high-quality nursing education through partnerships like this one with Northland. Building pathways that extend both within and beyond North Dakota supports our commitment to developing a strong, BSN-prepared nursing workforce across state lines.”
Courses completed at NCTC will be transferable to Minot State’s BSN Completion Program. Students holding an associate or bachelor’s degree from accredited institutions are considered general education complete.
The partnership highlights the significance of having a well-educated nursing workforce that includes BSN-prepared nurses. Additionally, Minot State will provide faculty academic advisors to NCTC nursing students during their ADN program.
