Sophia Richards, Miss North Dakota 2024, is scheduled to speak at Mayville State. Richards was raised in Hope, N.D., on her family's farm and completed her undergraduate studies at North Dakota State University in 2023. She plans to start a master's program at the University of North Dakota this summer.
Richards holds a position as host and producer of "North Dakota Today" on Valley News Live. Additionally, she has been involved with BIO Girls for three years, a program focused on preventative mental wellness for young women.
March is recognized as Women's History Month through presidential proclamation. This month is dedicated to acknowledging the contributions of women throughout American history.
