Minot State University is set to host an event featuring Darrik Trudell, a Homeland Security Investigations resident agent in charge. The Criminal Justice Club at Minot State has organized the event, which will take place on Tuesday, March 25, at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. The event is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m.
Maria Kerzmann, an associate professor in criminal justice at MSU, expressed enthusiasm about hosting Trudell. "We’re thrilled to host special agent Darrik Trudell and to give our criminal justice students the chance to learn from his vast experience in federal law enforcement," she said. She highlighted Trudell's career path as inspiring for students interested in criminal justice careers.
Trudell graduated from Minot State in 2003 with a degree in social work. He began his career as a parole and probation officer with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation before becoming a special agent with the federal government in 2007. His federal law enforcement career started with the United States Secret Service at the Philadelphia field office. In 2011, he joined Homeland Security Investigations and was assigned to their Minot office.
His work involves investigating various crimes such as financial crimes, child sexual exploitation, narcotics, terrorism, gangs, smuggling, and murder-for-hire.
The event aims to provide insights into federal law enforcement careers and highlight the complexities of work within the criminal justice system.
