The University of North Dakota (UND) has announced that Kenyatta Ruffin will be the featured speaker for its Black History Month event. The public is invited to attend the event, which will take place at noon on Friday, February 21, in the Memorial Union Ballroom.
Ruffin's career includes roles in both military and civilian aviation, as well as public service and community engagement. He currently works as a Boeing 737 captain and previously served as an F-16 fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. His leadership skills were recognized when he was chosen as a White House Fellow, a prestigious program focused on leadership and public service.
Additionally, Ruffin received an award from the Black Entertainment Television network for his contributions to youth through his aviation academy.
During the event, Ruffin will engage in a fireside chat with Robert Kraus, dean of the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences. Their discussion will cover Ruffin's experiences in aerospace, his military service journey, and his commitment to mentoring future leaders in aviation and other fields.
