Dianna Anderson, a native of Ekalaka, Montana, has pursued a career in music inspired by her mother's passion for the art. With a Bachelor of Music from the University of Idaho and advanced degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Anderson has dedicated her life to music both as a performer and educator.

Since 2004, Anderson has been an integral part of Minot State University's music community. She is a founding member of the Luminus Piano Trio and frequently performs at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. "Luminus is one of the most rewarding parts of my musical life," she stated. "Our relationship within the trio has deepened over the years."

Her career spans solo performances and collaborations with various orchestras internationally. Yet, Anderson finds performing at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall particularly meaningful: "I love our musical community and always feel that I play my best at home."

At Minot State University, Anderson teaches piano, music theory, and aural skills. She finds joy in witnessing students overcome challenges in their studies. "My favorite part of being a music educator is seeing those students who really struggled...overcoming obstacles and becoming leaders in the musical community," she shared.

Anderson advises aspiring musicians to actively engage with their communities through music: "Whatever community you find yourself in, make music and encourage those around you to participate." She also encourages current MSU students to seek unique experiences beyond their academic requirements.

Outside her professional commitments, Anderson enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, running, and spending time with her family.

Minot State University remains committed to providing excellent education through rigorous academics and active learning environments.
