Minot State University has announced that its data science program has received approval from the Air University Associate-to-Baccalaureate Cooperative (AU-ABC). The program is designed to cater to the needs of the military community at Minot Air Force Base and beyond, offering two certificates, a major, and a minor that lead to a Bachelor of Science in Data Science.

Daren Erisman, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Minot State, emphasized the significance of this approval. "We are excited to provide both in-person and online courses designed to address the logistical challenges of military personnel," Erisman stated. He added that it is fulfilling for educators working with military students to offer practical skills applicable in the growing fields of data science and artificial intelligence.

The data science curriculum at Minot State integrates courses from mathematics, computer programming, and business disciplines. This approach prepares students for immediate entry into the workforce or further academic pursuits.

The AU-ABC initiative facilitates educational advancement for Community College of the Air Force graduates through partnerships between the United States Air Force and civilian institutions. Minot State offers several programs under this cooperative agreement.

Minot State University is committed to providing quality education through rigorous academics, active learning environments, public service dedication, and vibrant campus life.
