Minot State University has been recognized as the fifth most affordable online college for 2024 by College Consensus, an online resource that attracted over four million visitors in 2023. Robert Norman, director of the MSU Center for Extended Learning, expressed pride in this achievement. "We have worked hard to provide multiple online options at an affordable rate for our students, so we are very proud to earn this ranking," he said.

Minot State was also noted as the highest-rated institution in North Dakota and ranked No. 34 overall on the list of most affordable colleges and universities. It was the only school from the North Dakota University System (NDUS) to make it into the top 10 for affordable online colleges and into the top 50 for affordable colleges and universities.

College Consensus employs a unique methodology that averages a school's publisher consensus—its average rating score from respected college rankings—and its student consensus score, which is an average of student reviews from around the web. Minot State achieved an overall student review score of 75.4 and a publisher score of 53.5.

The university's out-of-state tuition cost of $8,508 placed it fifth overall and fourth among public institutions in terms of affordability.

Minot State University is committed to excellence in education through rigorous academic experiences, active learning environments, public service commitment, and vibrant campus life.
