The Minot State University Development Foundation has announced that its sixth Giving Day will take place on Wednesday, April 10. This event is a 24-hour online initiative where alumni, friends, students, faculty, and staff can contribute gifts of any size to areas that are significant to them. The Foundation will match 50% on all gifts up to $1,000. Additionally, various challenges throughout the day will allow donors to enhance their contributions.

"MSU Giving Day is focused on supporting areas that mean the most to our alumni and friends," stated Rick Hedberg, executive director of the Minot State Development Foundation. "We’ve been extremely fortunate over the previous five giving days to have literally thousands of donors and friends step forward in support of campus projects and student scholarships. Every gift, large or small, makes a difference, especially with our matching funds and challenges."

Hedberg highlighted that this year marks the final phase of their EMPOWER Capital Campaign. "As we strive for the finish line of this historic campaign, this is the perfect opportunity to invest in important strategic initiatives. We are grateful for any support that can be provided."

All 70-plus projects during Giving Day will contribute towards the EMPOWER Capital Campaign, which aims to raise $50 million by the end of 2024. The campaign includes several priority projects such as EMPOWER Grants, General Student Scholarship Fund, Student Emergency Fund, MSU Vision Fund, and Athletic Scholarship Fund. To date, Minot State has raised just over $49 million through this campaign.

Giving Day 2024 begins at 12:01 a.m. on April 10 and concludes at 11:59 p.m. (CDT). However, donations can be made ahead of time via the Giving Day website which is currently live. In collaboration with Subway of Minot, there will be a special lunch offered starting at 11:45 a.m. in the Old Main Loop.

The MSU Development Foundation encourages participation from alumni and donors leading up to and during Giving Day. Special social media tools such as profile photos and banners for platforms like Facebook and Instagram have been created for this purpose using #MSUGivingDay.

For more information about the event or specific project details, individuals are directed to visit the MSU Giving Day website or contact Kate Marshall at (701) 858-4158.

Minot State University remains committed to providing quality education through rigorous academic experiences and community engagement.
