Minot State University is preparing to host a viewing event for the upcoming partial solar eclipse. The Division of Science at Minot State will organize the gathering in front of Swain Hall, with activities commencing around 1 p.m. on Monday, April 8, contingent on weather conditions.
Participants will have access to solar glasses and pinhole models to safely observe the celestial event. The viewing session is scheduled to continue until 3 p.m., coinciding with the conclusion of the eclipse.
Looking ahead, a total solar eclipse is expected on August 23, 2044. During that year, North Dakota residents will experience a total eclipse instead of just a partial one.
Minot State University is described as "a public university dedicated to excellence in education, scholarship, and community engagement achieved through rigorous academic experiences, active learning environments, commitment to public service, and a vibrant campus life."
