Minot State University, along with the Minot State Severson Entrepreneurship Academy, is set to host "The Entrepreneurial Perspective: Emerging Technologies & AI" on March 26 at the MSU Student Center Conference Center. The event will feature discussions on various emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, agtech, sustainability, and venture capital. It is open to the public at no cost, with lunch provided for those who preregister.

Chad Fenner, a professor of business information technology at Minot State, expressed enthusiasm about the event: “We are excited to offer this event to the public. This event will feature excellent keynotes, speakers, and panel discussion on how emerging technologies, especially AI, align with business strategies and entrepreneurial opportunities.” He highlighted AI's relevance across multiple fields including business and government.

The day-long event will commence at 9:30 a.m., featuring North Dakota University System Chancellor Mark Hagerott as the morning keynote speaker. Shawn Riley from BisBlox will lead an afternoon session. Randy Conway of the Severson Entrepreneurship Academy noted the success of previous events in this series and anticipated similar outcomes for this one.

Chancellor Hagerott has been part of the North Dakota University System since 2015 and has extensive experience in technology evolution research. “We are in a technological age not ever experienced before,” he stated regarding society's digital transformation.

Shawn Riley brings his expertise from roles such as chief information officer for North Dakota under Gov. Doug Burgum and IT executive positions at Mayo Clinic Health System. He emphasized technology's role in economic transformation: “Entrepreneurs have been a critical part of changing the face of the worldwide economy.”

The program includes lightning round sessions with alumni Arnie Strebe and Dustin Miller and features opening remarks by Clint Severson. A panel discussion moderated by Strebe will include Dorman Bazzell, Megan Gjovig, and Darla Lewandowski.

Minot State University continues its commitment to educational excellence through events like these that foster active learning environments.
