TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2022 AT 10 PM – 9 AM

Grand Forks Clinic and Women's Way are teaming up to offer a women's health screening day. Grand Forks Clinic's healthcare providers will be available to get you up to date on your annual clinical breast exam and pelvic exam and if you are due for your Pap test, that can be taken care of as well! In addition, Grand Forks Clinic is offering extended hours for you to complete your mammogram. Call to schedule your appointment, 701.757.5800.

If you need help paying for your appointment and mammogram, contact Women’s Way to see if you are eligible. If you have health insurance that covers those appointments, Women’s Way can provide navigation services to help make sure you are up to date with your preventive screenings. Eligible women will receive a free screening and a $25 Walmart gift card!

Get a mammogram regularly.

As women age, the risk of getting breast cancer also increases. 85% women diagnosed with breast cancer have no known risk factors other than age.

Regular screening mammograms are the best method available to detect breast cancer early, when it is most treatable. A mammogram can find breast cancer before a lump can be felt. In some cases, finding a breast tumor early may mean that a woman can choose surgery that saves her breast, or she may not need chemotherapy.

Regular mammography screening can save lives. Research estimates show that if 10,000 women age 50 were screened every year for 10 years, about 37 lives would be saved.

Do you know you can protect yourself from cervical cancer? One of the most important things you can do to help prevent cervical cancer is to have regular screenings.

Two screening tests can help prevent cervical cancer or find it early—• The Pap test (or Pap smear) looks for precancers, cell changes on the cervix that might become cervical cancer if they are not treated appropriately.• The HPV test looks for the virus (human papillomavirus) that can cause these cell changes.
