The women work to “enrich, sustain, and ensure the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry

Ramsey County Historical Society issued the following announcement.

The Links, Incorporated, a national nonprofit organization for more than 16,700 professional Black women has chapters across the United States and around the world, including in the Twin Cities. The women work to “enrich, sustain, and ensure the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.” Several years ago, for example, local members donated funds to the Lexington Outreach Branch Library in St. Paul, dedicating a newly named children’s section and providing much-needed funding and books to promote literacy and literature. Nationally, The Links Foundation, Incorporated announced in April that it has awarded its sixth $1 million Legacy Grant to the Chicago-based Obama Presidential Center, which is scheduled to open in 2025.
