University of North Dakota issued the following announcement.
In this video, President Armacost again congratulates the Class of 2022 and their families.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. It’s important to recognize the mental health needs of the campus, and UND is committed to providing the resources that the University community needs.
As we look back on Memorial Day and its tradition of honoring veterans for their service to our nation, we also take pride in the fact that UND is known for its commitment to military members and families, Armacost notes.
In June, it’s time to take a break and redouble our efforts to create a campus with a sense of belonging for all members, he said. UND celebrates Juneteenth on June 19, recognizing the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the U.S., and the day is a chance to celebrate Black culture and develop a better sense of Black history. June is also Pride Month, which recognizes LGBTQ+ members, and Armacost notes that the campus Queer & Trans Alliance is in its 40th year.
He ends by inviting the University community to enjoy summer.
