The North Dakota softball team defeated St. Thomas 4-1 on May 2 to close out the 2026 season at South Field in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Fighting Hawks finished the year with a record of 28-24 overall and a conference record of 5-12, while the Tommies dropped to 34-17 and 12-5 in Summit League play.

The game was tied at one run each until North Dakota scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to secure the victory. Brooklyn Morris led the way offensively with two hits, including a go-ahead double that broke the tie.

Makenna Alexander, Annabeth Carlberg, and Camryn Lasota also contributed hits as North Dakota outhit St. Thomas five to three for the game. Alexander added two runs batted in during the seventh inning with a single that extended North Dakota’s lead.

Pitcher Tehya Armstrong earned her sixth win of the season by pitching all seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits while recording four strikeouts and four walks. It marked her third complete game this year.

St. Thomas took an early lead in the first inning before North Dakota tied it up in the fifth after Carlberg singled and later scored on an RBI single from Lasota. In a critical moment during the sixth inning, Armstrong pitched out of a bases-loaded jam without surrendering any runs.

In their final frame at bat, North Dakota capitalized on walks drawn by Carlberg and Lasota before Morris doubled home pinch runner Tyler Price for what proved to be the winning run. Alexander then drove in two more insurance runs with her single.

Armstrong closed out St. Thomas in their last opportunity at bat to secure North Dakota’s final win of their season.
