Ethel Li and Jule Schulte were recognized on Mar. 24 for their performances in women’s tennis, as league officials announced that both players swept the weekly conference accolades. Li was named Singles Peak Performer of the Week, while she and Schulte together earned Doubles Peak Team of the Week.

These awards follow North Dakota’s home match against Kansas City on March 20, where the Fighting Hawks secured a strong team win in their second conference match of the season. The doubles team of Li and Schulte won decisively with a 6-1 victory from the No. 1 court, which helped secure the doubles point for North Dakota and improved their overall record to 12-3 from that position.

In singles play, Li came back from early deficits to claim a straight-set win, finishing 6-4, 6-3 over her Kansas City opponent. Her victory was also pivotal as it clinched North Dakota’s fourth point in what became a final score of 5-2 for the Fighting Hawks.

This latest recognition marks Li’s third career honor as part of a doubles team and her third singles award. For Schulte, it is her fifth time being recognized for doubles performance.
