Junior defenseman Jake Livanavage has signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the organization announced on Apr. 10. The agreement will start in the current 2025-26 season and extend through the 2026-27 campaign.
Livanavage is set to report to Pittsburgh and is expected to make his National Hockey League debut soon. This move follows a notable collegiate career at North Dakota, where he played three seasons.
During his time at North Dakota, Livanavage appeared in 117 games and recorded 82 points, including 14 goals and 68 assists. He became the first player in program history to be named a finalist for both the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Offensive and Defensive Defenseman of the Year awards in one season.
The Phoenix, Arizona native is also a two-time All-NCHC First Team selection and is anticipated to receive his second consecutive CCM/AHCA All-America honors later today. His total of 82 career points ranks third among University of North Dakota defensemen since 2000, while his average of 0.70 points per game ties him for seventeenth place among blueliners in program history.
