MILES & MOMENTS: The Mercer Memorial Park equipment had reached the end of its useful life and needed to be replaced. After receiving a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant facilitated by NDPRD, the City of Mercer replaced the playground and upgraded some park facilities. The combination of grant funds and fundraising efforts by the citizens and surrounding communities allowed for the successful completion of this project!

In addition to being a huge success for the community, the Mercer playground project also gained attention on the national level. This video, produced by our NDPRD team, is currently the featured project chosen by the National Park Service for both state and federal partners to view online as an example of a successful Land and Water Conservation Fund project. We're proud to help tell the story of the good work happening right here in North Dakota!
